Summer program:  Slots are filling fast for the summer program.  We started with 40 total slots available, but are down to only 4. Many classes have waiting lists.  We currently have 1 slot available in algebra 11:00-11:50 and 3 slots available in 7th/8th grade English 8:00-8:50.  If you are interested, please sign up as soon as possible, as these slots will fill quickly.  If you are interested in another class, please let me know to add you to the waiting list.  The classes are June 14-July 14 Tuesdays and Thursdays. The cost of the program is $200 with 1/2 payment due by May 27 and the remaining balance due on June 14.

Homework help:  There will be no homework this week.  Students will need to be picked up at 2:30 or go to extended care.

We will need lots of paper bags to recover books during the last week of school.  Each 6th grader should bring 6 bags by Monday, May 23.  Save Mart and Raleys are usually great about giving these to the students if they tell them what they need them for.

Thank you to those parents who have volunteered to help on field day games.  We still need  2 or 3 more.  This will be on Thursday, May 26, 9:30-11:30.  Please let me know if you are able to help with this.  You do not need to plan they games,  just volunteer time to help.  Mrs. Tyler and Mrs. Lorenzi will do the planning.  Thank you for your help.

Reading--8th grade

Castle Day is Tuesday, May 10.  This is the culminating event for our study of Romeo and Juliet.  The 7th graders will add to our Castle Day by providing booths with games.  You are welcome to attend.  It will begin at 9:00 AM.  Students will need to dress up in appropriate costumes (princesses, queens, princes, kings.)  Girls can wear long dresses (check at Goodwill).  Their shoulders must be covered, so they may need to wear sweaters or shrugs.  Boys can wear long sleeve button down white shirts with baseball pants and socks.  Tablecloths work well as capes.  Also, I will be sending home a note about providing snacks for this event.  The entire school, including preschool, will attend, so we will need lots of refreshments.  I am asking each 8th grader to bring in 2 ten packs of capri suns and one bag of circus cookies.  If you cannot find circus cookies, other cookies are fine.  Thank you for supporting this event.
